New Archive Policy

September 5th, 2008

We have a new policy regarding the video archive.

Since The MV Zone 2.0 launched, we’ve had an overwhelming amount of people requesting to have videos hosted in our archive. While we pride ourselves as the largest wrestling music video archive on the internet, there comes a point where we need to put our foot down and set some limits.

If you’ve already submitted information, you’re fine. We’ll get your stuff uploaded since you put forth the effort to get your work together. However, starting today, here’s the new policy…

We will NOT host out-of-competition material until you’ve proven yourself as a frequent contributor to the board. What this means is that we will not be hosting any of your videos until you’ve competed in a total of three different competitions.

That being said, if you participate in ANY competition, you’re guaranteed a spot in the archive. You simply will not be able to add additional videos until you’ve had three competitions under your belt. This might upset some people - but we think it’s fair. We work hard on this site, and there’s no reason we should put forth the effort to include your material if we’ll never hear from you again.

Voting Ends on Tuesday!

September 3rd, 2008

Good evening,

We’re going to be announcing the four winners of the Chris Hero Invitational this coming Tuesday night (September 9th). Make sure you get your votes in, because the competitors all put forth a lot of effort into their videos. You can view the event here. The voting will officially close at 10:00 central, 11:00 eastern.

Also, ST has updated his blog! Make sure to read his new entry entitled “HERO…” here.

We’ll be posting a huge episode of Zone V on Thursday running down all of the videos from the Chris Hero Invitational. Also, we’re delighted to announce that the “2008 Ted Petty Invitational Documentary” will be happening once again. It was a great success last year, and this year will be even better (since Ryan isn’t going to be in it).

Thanks,

MVZ Booker

ST’s Stories #2

September 3rd, 2008

HERO…

Nobody’s good enough to call themselves a hero. Actually the people who actually do, they are the least hero-ish of us all. We all fantasize though, I myself walk my everyday path and keep imagining what would I do in a dangerous situation… Sucks to know you can only imagine so much, and also, would we all do the right thing given the choice to?

I like to think I would risk my life to save another being, but I doubt if I would…

Come on guys, don’t tell me you’ve never seen a real good looking girl across the street and imagined how sweet would it be if some “villain” suddenly attacked her, and you would become her hero in shinning armor. Blood only makes it sweeter, just go figure.

What’s actually more troubling than this is that, being a true life hero is much easier than all that…

I’ve had many heros come and go, in and out of my life. Sometimes a shoulder to cry on, sometimes the cheer you need to go the extra mile. I could go on and on… They’re out there, and believe it or not, I’m sure all of us zoners have our little share of fans around, for sometimes the most unexpected action can create the biggest, most accurate reaction in somebody else’s mind. I hope you guys are following. What I’m trying to say is that, for example, while most of the time he’s a jackass and a cocky pain in the butt, my brother usually has my back in the toughest situations. I hesitate to write this words, but in those rare occasions he becomes a hero. Not because he’s saving my life, but because he’s motivating me to keep trying to save it myself. We’re all heros, I believe.

Moving on to another topic, but keeping the title of this blog in mind, THE CHRIS HERO INVITATIONAL may just be the thing the new MV Zone needed to get off the ground and into the sky. I’ve watched most videos, as I haven’t been home. I was shocked to read about Shocker333 not making it, yet I fully understand him, he has so much on his hands right now, his wrestling, school and I know many many other things… I don’t know Shocker that well but I just wish him the best nonetheless and hope that his Chris Hero MV is gonna come up on the boards even if it’s not for the comp.

I was surprised by some of the autors, as some of the are relatively new to our community, but hey, hell of an entrance you guys made. Claymore is one of them, he’s quickly establishing his style here in our boards, the least likely songs for MV’s, he works with them and it’s doing wonders in my brain. I’m buying your work my man, keep at it. I’d have to say guys like you and Nelson had quite the competition, but you didn’t dissapoint. My very good friend PNB put out another one of his awesome videos, and his expertise in effects is for my taste the icing on the cake for each of his productions.

Guys like th3rd, H69E and SSP, I don’t need to say anything, those are videos that belong in DVDs, and especially you three I reckon as the top MV Makers in our family right now. A lot come close, but you guys keep constant, and you don’t lose a beat, always releasing new stuff, trying new stuff and developing huge ideas to improve you video. The song in th3rd’s video though, I cannot overlook it man, and that made the whole MV kinda grey. Still, you keep producing and that’s always well appreciated by us. By me at least. I took this time to give you guys’ feedback, hoping to lead by example and urging everybody to do the same.

Come on you guys, MV’s are not easy. Feedback is. And that’s all our artists ask for. So, do the right thing.

Well, that’s it for this edition of The ST’s Stories, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I do writing it. Thanks all for your time and see you soon.

MV Recommendation: I’m currently digging Claymore’s Chikara video, entitled MANY. It’s on the forum, go get it. NOW!

Music Reommendation: Jimmy Eat World’s Here It Goes, from their record “Chase This Light”
